Robbie Lura Burgess, 98, of Manteca died Sunday, October 4, 2009. Graveside services will be held Thursday October 8. Born in Muskogee, OK. Mrs. Burgess moved to Stockton  in 1946. For 30 years Mrs. Burgess was a clerk for Rough and Ready Island Defense Depot. She enjoyed church, camping and fishing, quilting, knitting  and traveling, and was a member of Sequoia Heights Baptist Church. She will be missed by her family very much.

Mrs. Burgess is survived by her daughter Jolene Burrows of Manteca. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  

Mrs. Burgess is preceded in death by her husband Joe Burgess, son Larry Burgess and daughter Shirley Burgess.

Thursday’s graveside service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA. Cherokee  Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
