Rpbert E. Vieira. 60. died on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at his residence in Manteca after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 2, 1950 in Modesto and was a lifetime resident of Manteca.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maureen “Moe” Vieira; children, Alicia Bravo and husband Julio of Turlock, Danielle Vieira of Manteca, Emily Shaw and husband Blake of Modesto and Megan Green and husband Kevin of Manteca; siblings, Patricia Tassano and husband John, Sharon Mendoza and husband Bruce, and Katherine VanderWerff and husband Peter, all of Manteca; grandchildren, Donovan Bravo, Mia Bravo and Eros Bravo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Elva Vieira, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Laura and Charles Gulbicki.

Robert was a labor union employee for Pilkington/Libby-Owens-Ford in Lathrop for 15 years, prior he was self-employed for five years. He also had worked in Ripon in agriculture for Ripon Farm Service and Rain for Rent in Stockton. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he was a past Eucharist minister. He loved to ride his Harley and was an avid “MacGyver” handyman. Robert served six years in the California National Guard.

Arrangements are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. An online guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com. A Rosary will be held on Friday, June 18, at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. Memorial Mass will be Saturday, June 19, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. In a sign of solidarity you may wear yellow (his favorite color) to honor Robert Vieira. Final resting place will be private.
