 Robert Clement “Bob” Schneider passed away at home on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Bob is survived by his wife, Josephine “Josie” (Esteves) Schneider, his children, Debra Schneider of Tracy, Julie Monroe of Santa Cruz, and Erich Schneider of San Francisco, and his sisters, Marie Triglia of Manteca and Dolores Bell of Westminster, Maryland. Bob was born to William and Verene Schneider on October 9, 1928, in Manteca.
  A veteran of the United States Army, Bob graduated from University of the Pacific with a degree in Engineering. He was the Director of Public Works and City Engineer for the City of Tracy from 1963 until 1977. He was Livermore’s City Engineer until his retirement in 1988.      Bob was an avid fisherman, gearhead, and card player; he especially enjoyed playing Pinochle and Pedro with family and friends. He loved working on his 1972 VW van. He and his wife traveled across the United States three times and to Europe twice.        Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, Tracy, is honored to serve the Schneider family. A recital of the rosary will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 West Eaton, Tracy, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10:30am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Bernard’s School, 165 W. Eaton, Tracy, CA.
