On July 4, 2022, Roy Van Dorst received his independence from a long term illness, Lewey Body Dementia at the age of 74. He was born in Lodi, California on November 3, 1947 to Tony and Esther Van Dorst (deceased).

   Roy attended Ripon Elementary School, Ripon High School, and graduated from Turlock High School. He completed his studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He worked as a Civil Engineer for many years.

   As a kind and caring man, he was generous in sharing his time and talents with family, friends and the community. He served on the School Board of Ripon Unified School District and the Planning Commission for the City of Ripon. He was past president of the Ripon Lions Club

and a member of the Ripon Jaycees, and served on various committees throughout the community. After his retirement, Roy enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center having lunch and making new friends.  Roy loved fishing and the outdoors and enjoyed many outings with family and friends. 

   He is survived by Pat, his wife of 45 years, children, Lynn and Devin Reynolds, and Jon and Monica Van Dorst, and grandchildren Matthew, Leah and Elliot. He is also survived by Gary (his brother) and Sandra Van Dorst.  Roy always put a smile in our hearts. Per his request no services will be held.
