Born on December 29, 1937, Saundra Jean Ott passed away on May 17, 2025 in Oakdale, California, peacefully surrounded by her beloved family.
Saundra dedicated 22 years of her life working in food service at East Union High School, where she cherished the daily opportunity to see and interact with the students.
A devout and faithful member of her community, Saundra was a member of both St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Saint Patrick's Catholic Church. She was also a devoted member of the Legion of Mary and YLI for over 50 years, sharing her faith and service with unwavering commitment. For three decades, she joyfully taught catechism at St. Anthony's, nurturing the spiritual growth of many.
Saundra's passions included reading and playing the piano. She had a gentle, reserved nature and found comfort in simple pleasures. Her love for classic TV shows, especially "The Andy Griffith Show," brought her happiness and nostalgia. An avid collector, Saundra treasured her collection of bells and piano figurines, and was immensely proud of her beautiful baby grand piano, a centerpiece of her home and a testament to her love of music.
Saundra's life was defined by her faith, her love of family, and her quiet kindness. She is survived by her family; children Shirley Guzman, Lisa Henriques (Ed), Patty De Freitas (Eddie), John Ott (Kim). She was a proud grandmother to Alyssa Machado, Allen Guzman, Jennifer Guzman, Matthew Henriques, Ryan Henriques, Eddie De Freitas Jr, Derrick De Freitas, Cindy De Freitas, Kylee Ott and Megan Ott, and a great- grandmother to Antone "Tony" Machado, Ava Machado, Olivia De Freitas and Jaxson De Freitas. She leaves behind her three siblings, John Iribarren, Sharon Thoming and Michael Iribarren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Antone Ott.
All services are private. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club scholarship fund, St Jude's children's hospital or the charity of choice.
