Sheila Gale obit

Sheila Gale was born on March 22, 1943, in Ottawa, Illinois, and passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Manteca, California. A proud resident of Manteca for 65 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Annetta, and her beloved sister, Maureen Ioreo. She is survived by her devoted children, Leo Brooks Gale (Kathy) and Michelle Eavenson (Dan); her three cherished grandchildren, Joe, Matt, and Julianne Eavenson; and her loving siblings, Patricia Roux, Leo Dennis Duffy, Nora Forehinger, and Cara Swartz.

Sheila dedicated much of her professional life to serving others. She worked as a clerk in the Admissions Office at Delta College while simultaneously working at Doctors Hospital of Manteca. After 25 years of service at Delta College, she retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and strong work ethics.  Her faith and community involvement were central to her life. Sheila was deeply involved at St. Anthony's Catholic School, where she served as Athletic Director and was heavily involved in the Boosters Club. She gave generously of her time and energy, always supporting students and families.

Above all, family was her greatest joy. Her children were her pride, and her grandchildren were her world. She rarely missed a game, performance, or milestone, faithfully supporting them in all their endeavors. Whether cheering from the sidelines or celebrating achievements at home, she was their biggest fan.

Sheila found happiness in life's simple pleasures, playing cards with friends and family, enjoying a great cup of coffee, and traveling. She had a special love for Ireland and New York and proudly visited all 50 states. A passionate sports fan, she cheered wholeheartedly for the San Francisco 49ers, the Golden State Warriors, and her hometown Manteca Buffaloes.

She will be remembered as highly independent, always happy, generous, and deeply devoted to those she loved. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
