Buff cheerleaders performing at Pro Bowl
MHS Cheerleaders perform in 2016 Pro Bowl
Three Manteca High cheerleaders are performing during the Pro Bowl Sunday.

The National Football League’s Pro Bowl on Sunday is something Manteca High fans can cheer about.

Three Manteca High cheerleaders — Holly Anderson, Brittney Godoy and Beverly Lackey — will be part of the cheer squads performing during the Pro Bowl  in Honolulu, Hawaii in the Aloha Stadium.

The Manteca High School Buffaloes were named the top squad this past summer at the UCA (Universal Cheer Association) cheer camp at the University of California Berkeley, receiving Superior awards in cheer, extreme routine, sideline and home dance routine. In addition, the MHS cheerleaders were awarded the Camp Champs trophy.  Their accomplishments at camp earned them an invitation to perform in the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl.

The three Buffalo cheerleaders are part of a privileged group who earned the honor to perform in front of thousands during pre-game and halftime at Aloha Stadium.  They will join hundreds of other cheerleaders from across the country in performing during the nationally televised event.

The group leaves this week for Hawaii and meet up with the other cheerleading squads. They will practice five to six hours a day, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to learn and polish their routines which will be taught by professional choreographers and cheerleaders.

On Sunday, Jan. 31, the cheerleaders will take the field alongside the chosen NFL Cheerleaders and perform in front of thousands.
