LANCASTER (AP) — Yonathan Daza doubled twice and singled, scoring two runs as the Lancaster JetHawks beat the Modesto Nuts 5-3 on Wednesday.

Wilson Soriano singled three times, also stealing a base for Lancaster.

Modesto tied the game 1-1 in the second after Donnie Walton drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Joey Curletta.

The JetHawks went out in front in the fourth inning when Wes Rogers hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Soriano.

The JetHawks later tacked on two runs in the sixth when Daza scored on a sacrifice and Rogers scored on a stolen base to secure the victory.

Modesto saw its comeback attempt come up short after Daniel Torres hit a sacrifice fly and Braden Bishop hit an RBI single in the seventh to cut the Lancaster lead to 5-3.

Lancaster right-hander Peter Lambert (1-3) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Reggie McClain (4-2) took the loss in the California League game after allowing five runs and nine hits over six innings. Huascar Brazoban retired the side in order for his fifth save of the season.
