Manteca ran up 30 consecutive first half points Saturday and coasted to a 50-12 thumping of Christian Brothers of Sacramento in non-league sophomore action at Guss Schmiedt Field.
Alex Gouveia and A.J. Martinez each eclipsed 100 yards for the Buffaloes with Gouveia gaining 117 yards on 11 carries with touchdown runs of 2 and 18 yards and throwing a 53-yard halfback pass for a score to Kyle Lynch. Martinez led the Manteca ground game with 124yards on 14 carries.
Chris Ortiz scored on his first two carries on a 1- and 2-yard run, DeNovious Jordan on a 1-yard run and Jason Newell (six carries, 66 yards) capped the night’s scoring with a 45-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Jose Ceja paced the Buffaloes defense with six tackles. Nic Creighton added five, Austin Kivilahti and Martinez four each and Kyle Lynch, Dominic Day and Aidan Klinesmith had three apiece.

East Union 20, Ceres 13
Battling through adversity with five starters out due to injury Friday, Ty Harper kept the Lancers’ final drive alive with a huge catch to set up JoJo Espinosa’s 5-yard scramble for what proved to be the game-winning touchdown with 1:42 left in the fourth quarter at Ceres High.
At that point the defense took over with Levi Huffman notching a big sack on third down and Alex Alexander (12 tackles) sealed the victory when he tackled Bulldogs quarterback Dalton Durosette short of the first-down mark on fourth down.
The East Union defense came up big all day with Trinidad Diaz making an interception inside the 5-yard line, Espinosa grabbing an interception inside the 5, Huffman forcing a fumble and Gabriel Herrera and Ty Harper each recovering one.
Espinosa had an 8-yard touchdown throw to Marquise Higgins in the third period and a 3-yard touchdown run in the second.

Sierra 33,
Central Valley-Ceres 0
Larenze Red  ran wild for the Timberwolves on Friday at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium, racking up 186 yards on just seven carries with three touchdowns.
Miguel Sequeira added 74 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown. He also split quarterbacking duties for Sierra with Jimmy Taylor, completing four of nine passes for 23 yards. Taylor was 4 of 7 for 42 yards. Slyder Blythe had a touchdown catch, making four catches for 43 yards.
Antonio Montero led the Timberwolves with 10 tackles. Elijah White (forced fumble) added nine stops, Manuel Aguilar six, Frankie Vela, Justin Walker and Romeo Sesma five apiece, Carlos Tovar  (pass deflection), Saul Contreras and  Myson Hosmer four each and Taylor made an interception.

Amier Bowen threw three touchdowns for the host Cougars on Friday.
Fletcher Pitts had two of those touchdown catches and Julius Nelson one.
