Keith Jackson is picking up where he left off last fall, when he rallied generations of Manteca High alumni to cheer the Buffaloes’ historic postseason run.

The school’s unofficial “alumni ring leader,” as he puts it, Jackson has chartered buses for the Buffaloes’ season-opening game on Aug. 29 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, the new home for the San Francisco 49ers. 

Manteca High will take part in “Friday Night Lights,” a heavy-hitting doubleheader. The Buffaloes will face the hometown team, Wilcox High, at 4:30 p.m. Parochial powers De La Salle, a six-time state champion, and Jesuit of Carmichael will lock horns at 7:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised on ESPN2 and WatchESPN.

General admission tickets for adults is $20, $5 for students and children under the age of 18. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.ticketmaster.com.

There are two packages available, including:

• The suite package: At $80 per person, you get a seat on a chartered bus and an adult ticket into a luxury suite with full access to all levels. This package is limited to 40 suites and spots are filling fast, Jackson said.

• And the general admission package, which for $60 per person, includes chartered bus, parking a T-shirt and an adult ticket for a seat in the 100 section. There are 60 general admission spots available.

The buses will stay for both games, allowing fans to tour the stadium.

“My thought, I want to walk around and see the stadium,” Jackson said. “I want to experience this brand new, phenomenal stadium. I figure it’s going to be a great thing – and a great thing for Manteca.”

The buses will leave the Walmart parking in Manteca at 1 p.m. and caravan with the buses carrying the coaches and players. “Hoosiers style,” Jackson said. “This is once-in-a-lifetime. The opportunity to play in a stadium like this is just phenomenal.”

The high school doubleheader will be the fourth event hosted at the 49ers’ brand new billion dollar facility, following an MLS contest between the San Jose Earthquakes and Seattle Sounders and two 49ers preseason games.
