Jackson Fay scored five touchdowns, and Brayden Camara added three for East Union in a 64-12 shellacking of visiting Kimball in non-league football action Friday night at Dino Cunial Stadium to kick off the 2025 campaign.

Fay (five carries, 37 yards; three receptions, 72 yards) had touchdown runs of 6 and 30 yards with touchdown receptions of 21 yards from Kirk Simoni (128 yards passing, three touchdowns) and 26 yards from Peyton Heath (48 yards passing, touchdown) along with a 65-yard punt return.

“I wouldn’t be able to do anything without the line out there blocking their tails off,” Jackson Fay said. “Along with the quarterback making great reads.

“I saw a lane on the punt return and there was some great blocking for that lane.”

Camara ground out 136 yards on 20 carries.

“We put the work in the weight room,” Camara said. “That’s a big thing for me.

“I come out here and work hard every day and try to stay as low to the ground as I can and run behind my pads.”

J.P. Abrew (five receptions, 66 yards) got the parade started for the Lancers (1-0) with a 42-yard touchdown catch from Simoni.

Gunner Fay made two stellar defensive plays – one on an interception and the other recovering a squib kick late in the first half to set up Jackson Fay’s 30-yard touchdown run.

“On the interception, coach told me I had to go out there and make a play,” Gunnar Fay said.

“On the squib kick I saw the ball bounce in the air and I turned around and picked it up.”

East Union coach Jason Stock picked up his first win as Lancers head coach.

“This does feel good,” Stock said. “These kids have been through a lot the last couple of years and I am proud of them tonight.

“We played a pretty good game. We made a couple of mistakes with the 12 points we gave up coming off our errors. Those are things we have to clean up or it will catch up to us eventually.”

The Jaguars (0-1) from Tracy got their two scores within two minutes of each other in the second quarter on a 2-yard run by Richard Sandoval and a 68-yard pass from Sandoval to Apollo Flores.

Hoku Ap’e, Gabriel Lopez and Erick Cortez paced the Lancers defense with five tackles apiece.

East Union travels to Oakley next Friday to face Freedom at 7 p.m.
