Anthony Morales and Blake Mount connected for three touchdowns Thursday to lead the East Union freshmen to a 34-0 thumping of visiting Ripon at Dino Cunial Field in non-league action.

Morales (14 of 17 passing, 304 yards, four touchdowns; six carries, 107 yards) hit Mount with scoring throws of 28, 45 and 50 yards and Ralphie Cabrera of 27 yards. Izik (seven carries, 46 yards) Quezada added a 1-yard scoring run. Robby Espinosa tallied 57 yards on four receptions.

Julian Perez, Ryan Guibor, Jaden Gallego, Reilly Isaac and Martin Uribe also contributed on offense for the Lancers. 

The East Union defense kept the Indians under 100 total yards until late in the fourth quarter.

Perez paced the Lancers with 10 tackles followed by Mount (forced fumble) with eight stops, Gavin Goodwin (fumble recovery) and Jaden Gallego (seven apiece), George Mendoza (five) and Brandyn Sena, Damond Cunningham (fumble recovery) and Ryan Guibor (four each). Jackson Pellizari, Isaac Alvarez, Keenan Yang and Kaden Burlingame also contributed on defense.

Joseph Molthen tallied 61 yards passing for Ripon. Teammate Xaiden Reyes pulled in an interception.

 

Manteca 24, Downey 22

With the Knights driving late in the game, Buffaloes defensive lineman Isiah White sealed the road win for Manteca with a diving interception.

Preston Smith ran for one touchdown and threw for another for the Buffaloes. Smith (4 of 6 passing, 49 yards, touchdown) made his one carry count with a 23-yard touchdown scamper and he found Santana Stevenson (two catches, 36 yards; five carries, 55 yards) with a 24-yard touchdown pass. Chris Chavez (five carries, 67 yards) added an 8-yard touchdown run.

Rueben Moreno led the Manteca rushing attack with 85 yards on 10 carries. Damaree Long added 76 yards on nine carries and Vincent Torres also contributed on offense.

Eddie Anthony made a touchdown on a 25-yard interception and tallied six tackles for the Buffaloes. Louie Rosas made seven tackles, Jeremy Douglas five and Alijah Marshall posted two sacks.
