Weston Ranch used a balanced attack while the defense forced five turnovers to upend host Galt 33-20 Friday night at Erv Hatzenbuhler Field.

Fleet-footed running back/corner back Erron Duncan showed off his playmaking ability on both ends of scrimmage. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound junior scored on a 78-yard pass play, and on defense he forced one of those turnovers and turned it into a 75-yard return after stripping it away from the Galt ball carrier. Duncan ended up with two strips for turnovers and added 44 rushing yards, giving himself 119 yards from scrimmage for the night.
Quarterback Mohammad Khan connected on seven of his 12 pass attempts for 187 yards and two touchdowns. Marque Watson was on the receiving end of the other TD toss from 5 yards out.
Clayton Buttram amassed 95 yards on four catches. Phillip Strother led all Weston Ranch rushers with 52 yards on 11 attempts. The Cougars wound up with 112 yards on the ground.
Mark Cargenella forced a fumble recovered by Marque Watson. Naeem Ahmed had a strip for another takeaway, and Jordan Tauga came up with an interception.
Weston Ranch looks to pick up more momentum before Valley Oak League play this Friday when it heads to Modesto Junior College to square off with upstart Grace Davis (3-0).
