In just seven games, Sierra’s boys basketball team has already surpassed its win total from last season.
The Timberwolves improved to 6-1 after they escaped Turlock with a 61-57 overtime victory over Pitman. The game ended with 18.3 seconds left and Sierra looking to extend its lead from the free throw line after a Pitman player went down with a serious knee injury.
Isaiah Revives paced Sierra with 14 points. Romeo Callender and Colby Vueve added 10 points each.
Sierra opens the West Tournament in Tracy on Thursday against Hughes Academy. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30.

East Union 64, Sonora 40
Ava Barrera sparked the visiting Lancers (6-2) at Bud Castle Gym, scoring 10 of her 17 points in the first quarter. She also handed out four assists.
Shebra Rezaye had game-high honors with 19 points. Zyon Dupree Beasley added 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Kylie Serva spearheaded Sonora (1-3) with 13 points.
JV boys
Pitman 50, Sierra 46
Jeremiah Ybona paced Sierra (5-2) with 15 points. Jonah Patterson and Kiral Tran contributed eight and seven points, respectively.
Freshman boys
Sierra 35, Pitman 28
Harvir Singh and Kaiden Gowen led Sierra (3-1) with eight points apiece in the defensive battle.
