Sierra Downum had a foot in both of Lathrop’s goals in a 2-0 shutout at Pacheco of Los Banos on Tuesday.

The senior forward struck in the 24th minute for a goal, and in the 52nd she assisted Stephanie Maduli’s score. Goalkeeper Cassandra Flores recorded four saves in a match fully controlled by the 1-0-1 Spartans, who didn’t have the goals to show for it. They had 14 shots on goal in the first half and finished with 18.

“We were able to pretty much dominate the game,” Lathrop coach Gabe Padilla said. “It was a much more polished game than the one they played on Saturday (1-1 tie vs. McNair).

Alex del Aguila scored twice, and Allison Alvarez punched in the other goal for the still-undefeated Spartans.

Tori Cabello, Isabel Ornelas and Xothil Colano each chipped in an assist.
