Ripon Christian was able to overcome a poor start but couldn’t fly with the Falcons of Forest Lake Christian for the duration in a Sac-Joaquin Section Division V boys basketball quarterfinal Friday in Auburn.Chase Augustino fired 14 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to help fourth-seeded Forest Lake win 73-58 while clinching a spot in next Wednesday’s semifinal at Galt High. It also means No. 5 Ripon Christian (22-6) is not returning to the Final Four after doing so in each of the previous four seasons.“They played really well down the stretch,” Ripon Christian coach Ron Vander Molen said.
