RIVERBANK – Ripon picked up its first Trans Valley League win in impressive style Thursday night, holding Riverbank to just one point in the first and five through the first half on its way to a 50-18 win.

Lauren Feddersen scored 15, and both Skye Dominguez and Adrianna Mayberry added nine as the Indians improved to 1-1 in TVL play and 7-11 overall.

“We started off on a good note,” Ripon head coach George Contente said. “We played great defense out of the gate which was nice to see. We were able to play man-to-man.”

Rachel Rodriguez contributed seven points to the Ripon effort, while both Paulina Ceja and Kendra Contente added four.

“We were up 17-1 after the first, and 34-5 at halftime,” Contente said. “Everyone was able to play quite a few minutes.”

The road takes a decidedly uphill climb for the Indians Monday, however, as Modesto Christian visits Ripon High.

Kathryn Van Groningen had six, while Kayla Evans scored five and had nine boards.

Raeline Witt chipped in four and eight rebounds.

“We shot a season-best 64 percent from the free-throw line,” RC head coach Kirk Tillema said. “That was where the game was finally decided in the fourth.
