Ripon girls soccer coach Bryce Perkins reached a career milestone on Wednesday with his team’s 4-2 win at Turlock.

The Indians notched their 100th victory with Perkins as head coach, doing so against a traditionally competitive upper-division squad. Previously a longtime assistant for Ripon, Perkins is now 100-34-7 in five-plus seasons.

Alexis Zamora anchored the Ripon (4-2) attack with two goals. She got her first tally just 4 minutes in off a header from Mia Hendryx’s corner-kick cross. Hendryx later scored the go-ahead goal early in the second half.

Zamora capped the brace late in the second half, as she intercepted a pass from the Turlock goalie and capitalized on the open-net opportunity. Danielle Rey contributed a first-half goal.

After a 2-2 halftime deadlock, Ripon tightened up on the back end of its formation and shut out the Bulldogs the rest of the way. Sophomore goalkeeper Bella Ochoa picked up four saves.

Freshman Julissa Perez accounted for both of Turlock’s goals. The Bulldogs fell to 1-2.

Ripon starts the two-day Oakdale Tournament today against El Capitan at 10:45 a.m. and Tokay at 2:30 p.m.

Manteca 2, Sonora 0

Kailee Jackson headed in the first goal for the Buffaloes (3-0) off a corner kick in the first half, then assisted Makayla Spencer’s second-half score.

Manteca outshot visiting Sonora (0-3-1), 20-4. Goalkeeper Keira McCulley racked up six saves in the Buffaloes’ first clean sheet of the season.
