Manteca takes care of Cougars in boys volleyball season opener

 Manteca opened its boys volleyball season at home Wednesday with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-13 over Weston Ranch.

Andrew Woodruff helped put it away for the Buffaloes by serving 10 consecutive points in the third game.

They had balanced production in the attack, getting eight kills from Jesus Gomez. Chase Cheng, Rob Hevener, Donovan Morse and Logan Romriell each doled out five kills.

The Buffs resume their busy pre-league schedule tonight back at home against West.

Azan D’Anna rapped eight kills, and Hargun Kang distributed 12 assists, as the Buffaloes got the edge, 25-18, 26-24.
