The Ripon Christian basketball squad kept it in cruise control during Thursday’s Southern League matchup on the road against Le Grand.

Senior point guard Teagan Manus finished with 20 points and five steals and helped  lift Ripon Christian (5-0 SL, 11-4 overall) to a 59-21 victory.

“We’re playing well, but it would be nice to face a little bit more competition,” Ripon Christian head coach Ed Mulder said.

The Knights, who also received seven points and 10 rebounds from Carly Tillema, will play Delhi Tuesday followed by a home game on Thursday against Gustine. Manus picked up three fouls in the first half, but she came out in the third quarter and tallied 14 in that frame alone.

The Indians were led by Morgan Carrico’s team-high 14 points, but that wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Crusaders (4-0 Trans Valley League, 9-7 overall).

Kelsey Alexander netted six points, Julia Victor had three and three others finished with two to round out the total. Modesto Christian’s Lexi Tubbs finished with 25 points against Ripon (1-3, 5-9), who will visit Hilmar on Tuesday evening.
