ROUNDUP: EU girls golfers remain undefeated after edging out Manteca

East Union’s girls golf team maintained its perfect record in dual matches on Thursday, holding off Manteca 263-271 in a Valley Oak League showdown at Manteca Park Golf Course.

Jessica Ingalls was low medalist with an 8-over 44 for the Lancers (4-0 VOL, 6-0 overall). Manteca’s Emily Camara trailed by a stroke for the overall runner-up finish.

Arianna Pale added a 48 for East Union and was followed by 53s from Allie Farias and Kaylee Brown and a 65 from Eva Diaz.

Contributing to the Buffaloes’ score were Clare Crook (50), Aleisa Harris (54), Layla Flannigan (57) and Rebecca Navarro (65).


Beyer 238, Lathrop 262

Noah Richardson paced visiting Beyer with a 52 in the Western Athletic Conference match at Manteca Park Golf Course.

Ashley Abon led Lathrop with a 60. Kate Albisu (63), Kriselle Matela (68) and Savanna Quezada (71) made up the rest of the Spartans’ score.


GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Manteca 3, Mountain House 2

The Buffaloes (4-0, 7-5) stand alone atop the VOL standings after warding off visiting Mountain House (3-1, 8-1), 27-25, 25-17, 22-25, 20-25, 15-9. 

Saniyah Anthony led them with 16 kills, 18 digs and two aces. Ariceli McBroom added seven kills, 11 digs and four aces. Setter Riley Ward amassed 34 assists, 22 digs and three aces.

Peyton McDonald anchored the back-row defense with 28 digs. Trinity Todd (nine kills, three blocks) and Talia Shellbourne (eight kills, four blocks) provided key contributions up front.


East Union 3, Patterson 0

The Lancers (1-3 VOL, 5-11 overall) and took care of winless Patterson, 25-19, 25-18, 25-18.

Lily Grove led the charge with seven kills, nine service points, three aces, three assists and four digs.

Lucija Dayeh finished with 15 assists, three kills, seven points and two aces. Macie Hall-Anderson netted four kills, eight points and four aces. Joclyn Pena pitched in seven digs and four aces.



JV girls volleyball

Manteca 2, Mountain House 0

Susan Joseph’s 12 kills and 10 digs helped push Manteca past Mountain House, 25-19, 27-25.

Katie Anderson contributed with 13 assists, six digs, four kills and two aces. Sadie DeCosta had 10 digs and seven service points.



Frosh girls volleyball

East Union 2, Patterson 0

Isabel Teran registered three kills and five service points, as the Buffaloes coasted to the sweep.

Macy Cam collected four digs, and Sophia Juarez handed out six assists.
