In a final tune-up before the start of the Trans Valley League girls soccer campaign, Ripon blanked host East Union 2-0 on Monday at Woodward Park for its seventh shutout of the season.

Danielle Rey broke the tie just 2 minute in with a curling direct kick from near the top of the penalty box. The Indians (9-4) got the insurance goal in the 59th minute when Madelyn McKiernan’s through ball found Alexis Zamora for a 1-on-1 chance.

The Indians open TVL play Wednesday at home against Ripon Christian, while East Union (6-6-1) kicks off Valley Oak League action Friday at Mountain House.
