Bradley Reedy spearheaded five different Indians in double figures on Thursday, as Ripon rolled past Delhi 76-32 and onto the final round of Holt Academy’s boys basketball tournament.
They’ll play tourney host Holt Academy or Linden tonight at 8.
Ripon (10-5), winner of four straight, raced to a 25-8 lead and was able to get ample playing time for the reserves. Reedy made three of the Indians’ seven 3-pointers, finishing with a game-high 14 points.
Nine of 11 Indians contributed with scoring.
Ty Herrin added 12 points, Dawson Downs scored nine of his 11 in the opening quarter, Landon Gillespie netted 11 points, six rebounds and three assists, and Tanner Hickman collected 10 points, six boards and three blocks. Ethan Bauer chipped in eight points and five steals.
Angel Millan paced Delhi (5-9) with 10 points.
Ripon Christian 51, Sonora 44
The Knights (9-4) pulled away from the back-and-forth battle, making all seven of their free throws in the fourth quarter and leading by as much nine to secure a spot in the championship game of the 52nd Oakdale Rotary Classic.
Luke Crivello made four 3s and finished with 16 points, sharing game-high honors with teammate Jake Vander Veen. Jace Beidleman controlled the paint with eight points, 11 rebounds and six blocks.
Sonora (7-9) was led by Parker Moore and Jon Curran, who scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Ripon Christian faces Bret Harte or Gregory in the final starting at 8.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lathrop 46, Tracy 38
The Spartans (9-4) jumped out to a 14-5 lead and rode it throughout to take down the host team of the 49th annual Tracy Breakfast Lions/Tom Hawkins Tournament.
Tracy (5-9) was able to stay in the game by drawing fouls, scoring all five of its points in the first quarter from the free-throw line.
“I like the effort we put in and we didn’t complain about the calls,” Lathrop coach Dwayne Davis said. “We kept digging in on the defensive end, and we ran some really good offensive sets today.”
Tatianna Lowery led Lathrop with 16 points, four assists and four steals. Marianna Delgado contributed 11 points, and Madilyn Nungaray had eight points and three assists. Shakara Porter grabbed 11 rebounds and four steals to go with her four points. Sierra Adams pitched in four points and six boards.
Ripon Christian 49, Liberty Ranch 46
Maddie Yonker pumped in 21 points, eight rebounds and two steals in the MST Gallo Tournament semifinal, leading the Knights (7-4) to their biggest win of the season, so far.
They led 17-6 after the first period and padded their lead before Liberty Ranch (12-4) exploded for 23 points in the fourth. Reagan Vander Hoek chimed in with eight points and 13 boards.
Ripon Christian plays host Central Catholic today at 6:30.
BOYS SOCCER
Weston Ranch 2, Manteca 1
The Buffaloes (6-9-1) showed well against the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV semifinalist.
Ricardo Velasquez and Mauricio Morales each scored to give Weston Ranch (9-4-1) a two-goal lead. A tweak to the formation opened up the Manteca attack, leading to a goal from Fernando Lopez who was set up by Ethan Fraser’s free kick.
Goalie Alexandre Lira finished with five saves, keeping the Buffs in it with a big point-blank stop in the first half.
JV boys soccer
Manteca 4, Weston Ranch 2
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Buffaloes roared back behind Sean Lockwood’s hat trick. Anthony Espinoza also scored, while Juju Oregel, Andres Gomez, Eli Navarro and Adrian Anaya each had assists.
Frosh boys basketball
Lincoln 66, Sierra 46
It was all Lincoln in the Block M Tournament semifinal. The Timberwolves were able trim the deficit to eight late in the third before the Trojans sprinted to the finish.
Isaac Kempf led Sierra with 19 points and six rebounds. Ryan Alves scored 14 and hit four 3s. Karanbir Bhandal added six points and five boards. Arsh Gosal grabbed seven rebounds to go with his four points.
The T’wolves (8-4) take on tourney host Manteca in the third-place game today at 4:30.
