Ava Hersman is going to her No. 1 school of choice.

The Sierra High senior recently inked a national letter of intent to join the top STUNT team in the nation in California Baptist University.

Located in Riverside, the CBU Lancers are the winningest STUNT team in recent years, capturing its fourth consecutive national championship under the direction of head coach Brandon Seagondollar, including a perfect 80-0 record during that run.

He continues to hold the title of the most decorated and winningest coach in STUNT in the history of the sport in NCAA Division I.

Hersman is more than thrilled to soon be part of that winning tradition, according to her mother Crystal Mendoza.

She noted that her daughter received plenty of interest from other college programs – Hersman is known for her ‘back spots’ in STUNT – but CBU was easily “her No. 1 choice.”

Hersman was in cheer at SHS during all four years, having recently served as captain of the squad.

She spent the past 11 seasons competing for the Victorious Elite All-Stars.

Hersman is a three-time All-American and a back-to-back NCA champion as well as back-to-back Club STUNT National champ.

This year, she coached the tiny prep team at Victorious Elite All-Stars.

Hersman is planning to major in Elementary Education at CBU- she’ll be there for the upcoming fall semester.

Her recent signing event at SHS was shared with her family, friends and teammates.
