Sierra’s girls team continued its preseason dominance with a one-sided 122-48 win over visiting Tracy Friday, while the boys notched their first victory, 92-74.

“We made a big improvement from last week — both boys and girls teams,” said Sierra head coach Dave Breitenbucher.

The boys improved to 1-0-1 in non-league action behind strong efforts from two-time Bulletin All-Area Swimmer of the Year Josh Revives, Zach Holmstrom and John Osborn.

Revives dominated in his events, winning both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle while joining Holmstrom, Osborn and James Thomas on the winning 200 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams.

Osborn claimed the 200 free and 500 free and helped the 400 free relay quartet win. Holmstrom took first in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Art DeLeon contributed first-place points in the 100 backstroke.

The reigning Valley Oak League champion girls contingent had winners in all but the 500 free and racked up 1-2-3 sweeps in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay.

Sierra had three swimmers win two individual events.

Megan Viduya cruised to victories in the 100 and 200 free; Kara Hall took first in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke and Kimberly DeLeon won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

All three also won the 200 medley relay along with Stephanie Davis. Viduya and DeLeon helped the 400 free relay finish first.

Madison Andermaur won the 50 free and joined Vidua and Davis on Sierra’s first-place 200 free relay team.

Breitenbucher lauded the efforts of freshmen Amanda Hixon and Danielle Petty for contributing points in their first varsity meets. The coach also praised Nick Jamero and Zac DeGroot for aiding the boys team’s winning effort.

Sierra wraps up the preseason against Ripon Wednesday before heading to Weston Ranch for a three-team meet also involving first-year Lathrop  in the conference opener.
