Nick Gonzales and Kenny Summers shared medalist honors, and Manteca High’s golf team evened its Valley Oak League record to 1-1 with a 248-272 win against Ceres.
The Buffaloes’ top players each carded a 5-over-par 42 on Manteca Park Golf Course’s front nine. Casey Benson added a solid 47.
Tim Baker and Derek Benson finished with a 58 and 59, respectively, to round out the team’s score.
Carter Silveira and Ian Couture each turned in a 49 for Ceres (1-2).
Manteca next takes on Oakdale on the road Friday.

OAKDALE — Joel Keough came through with the low score of the day with an impressive even-par 36 for Weston Ranch (0-2, 1-2). He birdied the par-3, 136-yard 16th hole.
Tim Weatherwax chipped in a 45, Ryan Ortiz a 49 and Joseph Renaud and James Aragon a 58 apiece.
Freshman Ian Stogdell paced Oakdale (3-0, 6-1) with a 41 and VOL runner-up for 2009 MVP honors Austin Whitworth had a 42.
