BAKERSFIELD — Sierra High junior Alexa Garcia is on the fast track to the medal arounds after winning her first two matches Thursday in the CIF State Girls Wrestling Championships at Rabobank Arena. Teammate Camille Jarmon went 1-1, while East Union’s Sarah Atkins and Ripon’s Katelyn Cardoza dropped their first-round matches. Day 2 begins with the first-round consolation matches this morning from 9 to noon. Garcia won’t compete again until the late afternoon, 3-6 p.m., in the winners-bracket quarterfinal. The top eight placers earn medals Saturday.
