STOCKTON (AP) — Anfernee Grier hit a solo home run in the ninth inning, leading the Visalia Rawhide to a 3-2 win over the Stockton Ports on Friday.
In the bottom of the second, Stockton scored on a single by Santiago Chavez that brought home Edwin Diaz. In the following at-bat, Brett Siddall hit an RBI single, driving in Chavez to give the Ports a 2-0 lead. Visalia answered in the seventh inning when Ramon Hernandez hit a two-run home run.
West Tunnell (1-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Andrew Tomasovich (2-2) took the loss in the California League game. Matt Brill retired the side in order for his fourth save of the season.
