SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Jimmy Walker shot a 5-under 67 on Friday in the Texas Open to take a one-stroke lead in his hometown event.

Walker overtook first-round leader Charley Hoffman with three straight birdies late in his round and finished at 6-under 138 at TPC San Antonio. Walker won the Sony Open in Hawaii in January after winning three times and playing in the Ryder Cup last season.

Hoffman, 8 under at the turn, uncharacteristically let a good round get away on the Oaks Course with three bogeys on his second nine. He finished with a 72 to drop into a tie for second with Aaron Baddeley.

KIA CLASSIC

CARLSBAD (AP) — Morgan Pressel matched the course record with an 8-under 64 for a share of the second-round lead in the Kia Classic with Mirim Lee.

Pressel had eight birdies in her bogey-free morning round at Aviara to match Lee at 10-under 134. The American won the last of her two LPGA Tour titles in 2008.

Lee, the first-round leader after a 65, had a 69. The 24-year-old South Korean player won LPGA Tour events last year in Michigan and China.

MISSISSIPPI GULF RESORT CLASSIC

SAUCIER, Miss. (AP) — Colin Montgomerie and Joe Durant shared the lead at 5-under 67 after the breezy first round of the Champions Tour’s Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic.

Montgomerie finished with a birdie on the par-4 ninth hole at Fallen Oak with 10-20 mph wind with stronger gusts. The Scot won the Senior PGA Championship and U.S. Senior Open last year.

TROPHEE HASSAN II

AGADIR, Morocco (AP) — Wales’ Oliver Farr bogeyed his final hole for a 4-under 68 to fall into a four-way tie for the lead in the Trophee Hassan II.

Farr matched Scotland’s Richie Ramsay (66), Spain’s Rafa Cabrera-Bello (69) and Australia’s Richard Green (70) at 6-under 138 at Golf du Palais Royal.
