The under-19 girls Fury of the Manteca Area Soccer League are coming off two blowout victories.

They opened the season with a 7-1 drubbing of the Stockton Eagles on Aug. 24, and this past Saturday the Marines were victims of a 5-0 shutout.

Six different players scored against the Eagles, with Joanna Martinez accounting for two of them. Kareena Escartin, Fabiola Magana, Carla Ochoa, Tyanne Woodyard-Smith and Ivy Benson added one apiece. Benson also had an assist. Angelica Garcia, Taylor Gray and Anna Arriola each chipped in assist.

Escartin and Gray split time at goal. Both recorded seven saves.

Aided by defenders Kaitlynn Tarango, Nicole Castrejon and Gray, Escartin racked up 11 saves in the clean-sheet effort against the Marines.

Jennifer Hoffman scored the first and final goals and assisted one of Woodyard-Smith’s two scores. Arriola added a goal of her own, and Ochoa had two assists.
