Middleton, Chargers too much for Jr. Titans

Isaiah Middleton scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the Manteca Chargers varsity to a 24-13 win over the Chavez Jr. Titans in Delta Youth Football League action on Saturday at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

Middleton (six carries, 124 yards) scored on a 51-yard run and on a 51-yard reception. Danny Olaguibel added a 7-yard touchdown run and Colton Madden scored from 3 yards out.

Stephen Graham made nine tackles for Manteca with six for Madden and five for Middleton (interception. Olaguibel added an interception.

 

Jr. Titans 26, Chargers 13

Aiden Howe got Manteca on the board in the third quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run but Chavez had built up a big lead with 20 first-half points.

Howe gained 83 yards on four carries and Jameson Hicks (six carries, 32 yards) scored on a 6-yard run.

Ethan Sereno led the Chargers defense with seven tackles. Aizen English and Dominick Jimenez added five stops apiece.

 

Novice

Jr. Chargers 12, Titans 7

Diesel Spangler scored a pair of touchdowns for Manteca.

Spangler (three receptions, 40 yards) scored on a 13-yard pass from Royce Robinson (three completions, 40 yards) and on a 2-yard run. Lloyal Galtney added 60 yards on four carries.

Jeremiah Silva, Jayden Shortridge, Areion Shortridge tallied five tackles apiece for the Chargers. Josiah Johnson forced and recovered a fumble.

 

Junior novice

Jr. Chargers 21, Titans 15

Jharon Jackson scored on two of his four carries for Manteca.

Jackson tallied 131 yards on four touches with scoring runs of 57 and 69 yards. Choyce Galtney (four carries, 91 yards) added a touchdown on a 66-yard run.

Jewlius Newman paced the Chargers defense with five tackles. Jackson (forced fumble, fumble recovery) and Choyce Galtney added four stops apiece with three for Aiden Reyes

Varsity
Central Saints 14, Ripon Knights 8

Xavier Powell led the Knights with eight carries for 82 yards with a 76-yard touchdown run.

Joshue Gonzalez led the Knights with 11 tackles followed by Ryder Shelton and Drew Walker with seven stops apiece, Kevin Torres with six and Joe Wallace five.

 

Novice

Saints 14, Knights 6

Ripon’s Tyce Thompson caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Owen Degenstein.

Keagan Heuvel forced a fumble and led the Knights with eight tackles. Austin Stirrat and Adrien Anaya (forced fumble) added seven stops apiece and Kolton Avant forced a fumble.

 

Junior novice

Knights 19, Saints 7

Central scored on the first play of the game and following that had just one first down the rest of the game.

Lucas Durao (114 yards rushing), Nikolai Gorbunoff (57 yards rushing, 88 yards receiving) and Eli Browne (44 yards rushing) each had a touchdown on the ground. Mearl Thompson was 2 for 5 passing for 88 yards with offensive contributions from Jaxson Quilantang, Keegan Lewellen and Chase Johnson.

Gorbunoff and Durao made five stops apiece and Quilantang made four tackles with Logan Stirrat, Benjamin Boling, Aiden John and Jackson Rubio all contributing on defense.
