Postma, Knights’ air attack overcomes Kingsmen

Stadtler Postma threw four touchdowns Saturday to lead the Ripon Knights to a 30-24 win over the Modesto Kingsmen in Trans-Valley Youth Football League action.

Postma was 9 of 19 for 179 yards passing with three touchdown throws to Xavier Powell (four receptions, 102 yards) and one to Max Abrew (two receptions, 36 yards). Xavier Powell led the ground game with 132 rushing yards.
Ripon’s Ryder Shelton made nine tackles, Drew Walker, Joshue Gonzales and Cody Foster eight apiece, Jax Booth seven with contributions from Joe Wallace, Gunnar Fay, Kevin Torres and Jacob Ramirez.

 

Junior varsity

Kingsmen 18, Knights 14

Jessy Vega and Jack Schaapman each scored for Ripon.

Vega ran for 58 yards and Schaapman posted 59 receiving yards with a 49-yard touchdown catch from Mason Dodson (6 of 13 passing, 81 yards). Grayson Perry, Aaron Alaniz, Travis Maltes and Rocky Gonzales all made receptions.

Gonzales made eight tackles, Nathan Fletcher seven, Max Neto and Jack Schaapman six apiece,

Tyce Sanchez and Cal De Bruin five each, Jessy Vega four with an interception for Danny Widmer.

 

Novice

Knights 13, Kingsmen 6

Ripon’s Tyce Thompson and Hudson Postma combined for nearly 200 rushing yards.

Postma ran for 94 yards and Thompson tallied 87 rushing yards with a 34-yard touchdown run. Austin Stirrat pulled in a 14-yard scoring from Owen Degenstein.

Seventeen players made tackles for the Knights with Elijah Perez and Shooter Bruns making eight each, Brayden Camara seven with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery and Austin Stirrat five.

 

Junior Novice

Knights 33, Kingsmen 6

Ripon’s Nikolai Gorbunoff ran for two touchdowns on his only two carries.

Gorbunoff tallied touchdown runs of 21 and 50 yards along with two receptions for 81 yards including a 78-yard touchdown catch from Mearl Thompson (3 for 3 passing for 99 yards). Lucas Durao (four carries, 84 yards; one reception, 18 yards) scored on a 47-yard run and Jaxson Quilantang (two carries, 45 yards) added a 37-yard touchdown run. Ben Boling, Jaxon Muschott and Jackson Rubio contributed on offense.

Durao made 13 tackles, Quilantang 10, Gorbunoff seven, Jackson Rubio three with defensive contributions from Chase Johnson, Benjamin Boling, Keegan Lewellen, Johnathan Mulkey and Aiden Anaya.

 

Delta Youth Football

Tracy Rampage 29, Manteca Chargers 0

The Rampage varsity scored 29 first-quarter points.

Danny Olaguibel gained 44 yards on five carries for the Chargers. Alex Espinosa added 23 yards on three carries and Robert McDonald made one catch for 12 yards.

Manteca’s Dominic Balugo made four tackles, Ka’Ron Grisham three and Alex Espinosa two.

Rampage 55, Chargers 0

Manteca’s Jameson Hicks had four carries for 23 yards with 14 yards on two carries for Julian Baez.

Hicks, Israel Juarez-Salgado and Isaiah Ramirez made two tackles each for the Chargers.

 

Novice

Rampage 27, Chargers 14

Manteca led 14-13 at halftime.

Jayden Shortridge gained 86 yards on six carries for the Chargers with a 54-yard touchdown run and Diesel Spangler (four carries, 20 yards) had a 1-yard touchdown plunge.

Spangler made four tackles, Jeremiah Silva three with two apiece for Areion Shortridge, Jayden Shortridge and Lloyal Galtney.

Rampage 42, Chargers 0

Tracy exploded for 30 second-half points

Manteca’s Jharon Jackson gained 37 yards on five carries, Choyce Galtney added 24 yards on three carries and Jameson Vargas chipped in 18 yards on two carries.

Aldo Miramontes made four tackles for the Chargers, Izaiah Shortridge three with two each for Jackson (forced fumble), Juelius Newman, Jameson Vargas, Shayne Sutherland Jr. and Aiden Green. Adrian Agtarap recovered a fumble and Legend Johnson forced a fumble.
