Roa’s last-second kick the difference for Ripon Knights

With time running down in the fourth quarter Jovany Roa’s two-point conversion kick gave the Ripon Knights varsity a 22-20 win over the Modesto Kingsmen in Trans-Valley Youth Football action.

Matteo Gonzalez (5 of 14 passing, 74 yards) found Christian Dell’Osso with and 11-yard pass to tie the game at 20-20. Gonzalez scored returning a fumble recovery 20 yards for a touchdown and Lucas Ruiz tallied a 21-yard touchdown run. Kaeo Sanchez and Dax Beidleman contributed on offense for Ripon.

Beidleman had quite the game on defense with 12 tackles, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick. Joshue Gonzalez added 10 stops, Myles Pollard had six tackles and Gonzalez five.

Dell’Osso and Josiah Van Vliet each made an interception.

 

Junior varsity
Knights 32, Kingsmen 0
Jax Booth gained 95 yards on just three carries with a touchdown for Ripon.

Xavier Powell (eight carries, 73 yards), Landyn Parker and Kevin Torres each added a touchdown run and Gus Clark chipped in on offense.

Jacob Ramirez made 10 tackles for the Knights. Jax Booth added six stops with four apiece for Jessy Vega, Drew Walker, Dane Nemeth, Luke Venemen, and Zander Rivera.

 

Novice

Knights 41, Kingsmen 0

Ripon’s Tyce Sanchez threw for two touchdowns.

Sanchez was 6 for 11 passing for 95 yards with touchdown throws of 21 yards to Ryker Christensen and a 26-yard touchdown throw to Tyce Thompson (63 yards receiving). Max Neto (56 yards rushing) scored on a 25-yard run, Keagan Heuvel scored from 1 yard out. Austin Emmett recovered a fumble in the end zone for a defensive touchdown.

Gio Penaflor (three tackles) helped set the tone for the game when he recovered the opening onside kick. Adrien Anaya, Max Neto and Tyce Sanchez made five stops apiece and

Keagan Heuvel recovered a fumble.

 

Junior novice

Knights 12, Kingsmen 12

Ripon’s Luke Sanders reeled off a 76-yards touchdown run.

Lucas Durao (36 yards rushing) pulled in a 6-yard touchdown pass from Mearl Thompson for the Knights.

Ripon’s Jaxson Quilangtang made six tackles and recovered two fumbles. Durao and Sanders added six tackles, Chase Johnson five and Nikolai Gorbunoff (fumble recovery) four.
