STOCKTON —Delta Sunrise converted three fourth-inning errors into five runs Sunday to come from behind and take the lead for good in a 10-5 semifinal win over Spreckels Park in the semifinal of the Section 8 Juniors All-Star Tournament at Davis School.

District 8 champ Spreckels Park took a 4-3 lead into that fateful fourth inning. Manolo Asuncion led off the first, reaching on an error and came around to score on a wild pitch to tie the game at 1-1. Spreckels Park took a 3-2 lead in the second when both Evan Hayne and Ayden Louie walked and worked their way around to score on wild pitches and in the third inning Spreckels Park made it 4-3 when Dante Tafoya singled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jonathan Arnoldus.

Spreckels Park managed just three hits, the first by Tafoya in the second. Arnoldus singled in the fifth inning and scored on a Frank Carter-Castro single to make the score 9-5.

Spreckels Park was eliminated by Amador West from the Mother Lode 5-4 on Monday. Details were not available as of press time.

 

Spreckels Park 5, Turlock National 3

Asuncion scored three runs to spark the Spreckels Park attack in opening-round action on Saturday.

Arnoldus was 2 for 3 with three RBI and a run and Angelo Aguilar posted an RBI and scored a run.
