Trojans stifle Manteca Chargers

The Manteca Chargers could not get untracked against the Northwest Trojans of Stockton last weekend. The varsity team was blanked 38-0 in Delta Youth Football League action at Lincoln High.

Roman Duvernay led the offense with 30 yards on five rushes while coming up with two fumble recoveries on defense.

Shayne Saenz spearheaded the Chargers defense with four tackles. Marshall Singleton and Alejandro Rodriguez (forced fumble) each had three. Carlos Plascencia contributed a sack.

 

Junior varsity

Trojans 36, Chargers 0

Isaiah Herrera had six carries go for 40 yards, while Robert McDonald contributed 24 yards on four attempts.

Zackery Behrbaum paced the defense with four tackles, while Shane Foster and Gilbert Sanchez each had three. Jamie Buchanan forced a fumble, while Angelo Nieto recovered a fumble.

 

Novice

Trojans 21, Chargers 0

Kingston Bullock-Johnson anchored the defense with four tackles and a sack.

Lloyal Galtney produced 46 yards of offense on six rushes. Arieon Shortridge had 28 yards on seven carries, and Royce Robinson chipped in 18 on three.

 

Junior novice

Trojans 24, Chargers 6

Jayden Shortridge amassed 114 yards and one touchdown on just four carries. The TD run covered 95 yards. He also led the defense with five tackles.

Aneel Dhaliwal and Brayden Camara added three tackles apiece. Christian Porter forced a fumble.
