Stephanie Sabala had a field day with the first-year Spartans of Lathrop High Thursday evening, scoring four goals in leading the East Union frosh-soph soccer team to a 6-0 win.
Kelsey Gormley wasn’t too bad herself, turning in a pair of scores, while Lauren Sveum and Julianna Perez had one each.
Alicia Espericueta was helped in goal by defenders Adriana Alvarenga, Shanae Haroldsen and Andrea Arce, who held the Spartans to just one shot on goal.
The Lancers take on Sierra at home Thursday.
Ashley Sohal had a pair of goals, and Kenisha Gathron and Katelyn Carbiener added one each in the T’Wolves’ win.
Sierra led 2-1 at half.
Rocio Lopez scored the Buffaloes’ lone goal in the 31st minute.
“It was a good game,” Sierra head coach Joe Pires said. “It was a tough battle in the first half, but we dominated the second.”
Sierra moved to 8-0 in Valley Oak League play, and 14-1 overall, while the Buffs slipped to 3-3-1 in league play and 9-3-1 overall.
Sierra welcomes Ceres Tuesday, while Manteca hosts Sonora.
