Three area churches are pooling their resources and musical talents together tonight to worship, praise God, and fund-raise for missions.

“A Time of Worship: Music for all ages” is being presented by Lathrop Christian Worship Center. The concert will take place at the Calvary Community Center on Moffat Boulevard in Manteca tonight starting at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person; free to children age 5 and under.

Featured in the program will be the following groups and individuals: the Calvary Community Worship Band, pianist Tom Coyan, Crossroads Grace Community Church Youth Band, Lathrop Christian Center Worship Band and worship leaders Mario Franco and Arabella Whitlock, and the TORCHED dance crew.

Performing duet numbers will be the twin daughters of Whitlock, Sierra High graduates Rebecca, who has just finished her freshman year at the University of California at Davis, and Courtney who is attending the University of California at Los Angeles. The two are home from college during the summer when they also plan to do missionary stints with Mexico as one of their choices.

Whitlock, who is Lathrop Christian Center’s communications and creative arts pastor, said the first $500 raised from the concert will go to the missions.

“The rest (of the proceeds) will help us with needs within our worship department. Since we are a mobile church, we have a lot of equipment that has fallen apart,” Whitlock said.

While the concert is intended as a fund-raiser, it is also an outreach ministry to the community during these economically depressed times, she said.

Calvary Community Church is located at 815 West Lathrop Road between Highway 99 and Union Road.

Crossroads Grace Community is located at Moffat Boulevard in Manteca.
