RIPON — The Ripon Garden Club invites the public to its annual September Stroll on Saturday, Sept. 8.  Six gardens owned by Ripon homeowners will be open for touring, inspiration and delight.

The six gardens offer lots of points of comparisons and contrasts.  One, a vegetable and fruit garden, features a cornucopia of the crops of the season,  and also serves as a favorite local fruit stand.  Another, inspired by an African safari theme, mimics a jungle and contains some of its creatures (in statue form, of course).  Many of the gardens were intentionally designed to maximize socializing and playing areas for family and friends.

These gardens can be toured from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Tickets are $20 per adult and $8 for children under 12 (For safety reasons, no child strollers, please).  The tickets will contain the locations of the gardens and a map on how to get there.  At one of the gardens, a raffatunity will be held and refreshments will be served.

Tickets are available at any of the following businesses in Ripon and vicinity: The Barbouri’ , Park Greenhouse, Creative Water Gardens, Schemper’s Ace Hardware, Morris Nursery, Silverado, New Buds Nursery, Westurf Nursery, and P & L Garden Center.

The September Stroll represents the Ripon Garden Club’s major annual fundraising event.  Proceeds of it are returned to the community in the form of college scholarships, support for the elementary schools’ gardens, local beautification projects, such as the planters in downtown Ripon, the butterfly garden in Stouffer Park, and Bethany Home’s gardens.
