Wine & Roses in Lodi offers Jacuzzi, pool and a botanical garden as part of the getaway day spa experience.

LODI — One of the best spa getaways in the 209 just might be in Lodi.

Smack dab in the middle of the Zinfandel Capital of the World is Wine & Roses.

Located at 2505 W. Turner Rd., this place is also home to the Lodi Wine & Visitors Center. Where else can one sample a few of the over 70 wines from the region, get wine-tasting information, or stop by the hotel, restaurant and day spa?

The award-winning spa offers services and packages for women, men and couples.

“I got the best massage ever,” said Annie Calavan of Valley Springs. “The spa is absolutely beautiful.

“It’s like an exquisite oasis – you can hang there for hours and just relax.”

At the same time, her daughter enjoyed a facial.

It was 30 years ago that Wine & Roses started out as a 10-room bed and breakfast. In 1999, current owners Russ and Kathryn Munson along with a host of community leaders and investors embarked on a journey with the Lodi Wine Commissions.

From that came 79 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites along this seven-acre estate of flowering trees, flowers and herb gardens. Amenities included the botanical gardens, a fitness center, Jacuzzi and pool.

u How to get there: From Highway 99 (north), turn right on to West Turner Road in Lodi, continue westbound and go five miles towards Lower Sacramento Road.
