Stuff the Bus needs toys

Brandy Clark has some good news.

The donation of food, jackets, pajamas, slippers and toiletries for a number of needy kids referred by the Manteca Unified School District Health Services’ Department due to a precarious family financial situation is going well.

What isn’t going as well is the donation of toys.

While more food and coats are still needed and would be greatly appreciated, volunteers being coordinated by the Manteca  Unified School District Transportation Department and the Manteca Parks & Recreation Department are hoping the community will step up so that kids won’t go without toys on Christmas.

One more Stuff the Bus event is being planned for Sunday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside the Manteca Wal-Mart, 1205 S. Main St.

They are requesting new toys that are unwrapped.

Items can also be dropped off at any Manteca fire station, the parks and recreation office as well as the Manteca Senior Center through Friday, Dec. 19.
