Blood drive set this Saturday

The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a blood drive on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church cafeteria, 525 E. North St.
Delta Blood Bank will be working with the Knights of Columbus, attending to donors in good general health, at least age 17, and weighing over 110 pounds.
Those age 16 must have parental consent while weighing a minimum of 115 pounds.
The entire process takes about an hour. Included is registration, a medical screening, the actual blood donation and a 15-minute rest period in the refreshment area with juice and cookies.
All donations will go to a Group Plan G-70, an insurance policy to individuals and groups, reimbursing beneficiaries for the cost of transfused blood and blood products.
This policy also plays for the cost of blood anywhere in the world, regardless of the cost per pint or number of pints needed.
In addition, all donors will receive a cold and flu kit, courtesy of Delta Blood Bank.
