Doctors Hospital of Manteca was honored with an “A” grade in the Spring 2015 Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries and infections.

The Hospital Safety Score is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety and is administered by The Leapfrog Group (Leapfrog), an independent industry watchdog. The first and only hospital safety rating to be peer-reviewed in the Journal of Patient Safety.

“I am deeply grateful and proud of our dedicated team of employees, physicians, and volunteers for their collective efforts to ensure the safety of our patients,” said Nicholas Tejeda, Chief Executive Officer at Doctors Hospital of Manteca. “These individuals have worked tirelessly to identify opportunities for improvement, implement action plans to achieve those goals, and closely monitor our progress. Of course, we understand that patient safety is a journey, rather than a destination. As such we will continually strive to improve our performance and provide our community with a safe hospital that delivers a high level of clinical care and customer service.”

. More than 2,500 U.S. general hospitals were assigned scores in fall 2014, with about 31-percent receiving an “A” grade. The Hospital Safety Score is fully transparent, with a full analysis of the data and methodology used in determining grades available online.
