When it comes to Pumpkin Hunt clues, the Cyr family knows Manteca trivia.

Renee and Shane Cyr deciphered the clues to find the pumpkin in the first week of the 2012 Manteca Bulletin Great Pumpkin Hunt.

They found the pumpkin in the 100 block of South Grant Street at the site of the former Manteca Dry Bean Co.

The clues were as follows:

•I see a Perry family member “way” over there.  - That refers to the George Perry & Son office and truck weigh station across Grant Street from the former Manteca Dry Bean Co. site.

•You can see them working on the railroad. - That is in reference to the work  on the Manteca Transit station under way across Moffat Boulevard from the former Manteca Dry Bean Co. site

•The former home of Manteca’s bean counters. - A reference to the Manteca Dry Bean Co.

Renee Cyr said that she and her husband Shane had searched in past years at about 7 a.m. noting they were always too late. This time they went hunting earlier and found the pumpkin before 4 a.m.

There are four more chances to find pumpkins worth $100 apiece.

The next set of clues will be in Saturday’s Weekend Edition of the Manteca Bulletin.
