Game day returns
to Manteca May 14
The Manteca Branch Library will host We Got Game! on Friday, May 14,from 3 to 5 p.m.

Pre-teens and teens can stop by anytime for a free afternoon of fun and competition, featuring some of today’s most popular video games like Wii and Guitar Hero.  Favorite non-electronic games like Scrabble, Sorry, Jenga and others will also be available to play.  For those purists in the crowd, old-school favorites like chess and checkers will make an appearance.  While waiting for your turn to Wii, there will be playing cards and jigsaw puzzles to pass the time.

Fishing for fun at
Lathrop Library

The Lathrop Branch Library presents “Fishing for Fun” on Wednesday, May 19, at 4 p.m.

Don Moyer, former mayor of Ripon and local fisherman, will show children of all ages the techniques of fly fishing and Delta fishing.  He will bring several fly fishing poles.

Manteca Library
seeks volunteers
Do you know a youth, ages 12 and up (or someone who is young at heart) who would be interested in volunteering at the Manteca Branch Library in the upcoming months and during the summer?

The library is looking for someone to assist with decorating the Manteca Branch to ready it for the upcoming Summer Reading Program.  The other opportunity is to volunteer as a judge at the Sidewalk Art event.

Ripon Library plans
beginner book club

RIPON - Kids can share your love of reading at the Ripon Branch Library.

Starting Tuesday, May 18, the Ripon Branch Library will begin accepting sign-ups for the Children’s Beginning Readers Book Clubs.  The book club meetings will begin on Tuesday, June 8 and run weekly until August 3.  The Easy Reader Club starts at 2 p.m. and the Step Up Club starts at 3:30 p.m.  Each club lasts approximately an hour. 

This free program is provided through the generosity of the Friends of the Ripon Memorial Library.  The Ripon Branch Library is a part of the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library and is located at 333 W.
