Georgiana Reichelt - the former president of the Manteca Democrat Club as well as the International Typographical Union - will share why she is now voting Republican during the Tuesday, Sept. 14, meeting of the South San Joaquin Republicans.

Reichelt will explain briefly how the Democratic Party has left her and working families.

She will speak at the front end of the 6:30 p.m. meeting at Chez Shari on the second floor of the Manteca Golf Course at 350 North Union Road.

The event is dubbed “Hammer-Berryhill Night” as congressional candidates David Harmer, for District 11 and Mike Berryhill for District 18 will speak and take questions from the audience. Berryhill will speak and take questions from 7 to 7:45 p.m. followed by Harmer from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m.

Pastor Mike Dillman of The Place of Refuge will provide the invocation while the Boy Scouts of America will present the American flag.

A meet and greet with the speakers will start at 6 p.m.

The group includes Republicans from Escalon, Lathrop, Manteca, Mountain House, Tracy, Ripon, and surrounding areas.

The Republican group is also planning to conduct their annual “Dunk a Democrat” dunk tank during the Manteca Pumpkin Fair in downtown on Oct. 2-3. It is part of their annual registration booth.

Those on the perch will wear either a President Obama, Hillary Clinton or donkey mask. Prizes this year are an American flag or a zero dollar bill.
