Manteca’s oldest community recreation complex - Lincoln Park - is about to get another upgrade.

The City Council is expected to call for bids Tuesday for a $220,000 project to replace the parking lot and to add a recreational plaza adjacent to the Lincoln Park baseball filed.

Work also includes a new parking lot storm drain system and removal of three abandoned South San Joaquin Irrigation District standpipes to improve accessibility, safety, and esthetics.

The construction will start after the last Manteca High home football game. It will be finished before Little League play starts in late winter.

The city over the past few years has installed new playground equipment and upgraded the baseball field.
