It costs $44,000 a year to clean the Manteca Transit Center.

The Manteca City Council on Tuesday approved a three-year contract for $132,000 for Vanguard Cleaning Services of Central Valley to clean the transit center at 220 Moffat Blvd.

The deal includes two optional one-year extensions not-to-exceed $44,000 a year.

 The city has its in-house janitorial services but opted to go with an outside vendor.

The contract covers cleaning and maintaining 8,600 square footage of the building office areas, including restroom, entrances, hallways, meeting rooms, and other institutional office space.
