Manteca offers free vouchers to ‘fix’ pets

A Manteca program aimed at reducing the number of unwanted dogs and cats by issuing vouchers for spaying and neutering has been launched.

But if you want to fix your pet and save significant money you may have to act quickly.

The free vouchers will be granted on a first come first serve basis until a total of 200 dogs and 162 cat vouchers are issued and redeemed.

The Manteca Animal Services is program targets unaltered dogs and cats residing within the city limits of Manteca. To receive a voucher, you must provide proof of residence (current driver’s license, utility bill, etc.). All vouchers will be issued in increments of $40 for cats and $80 for dogs (the voucher is at no cost to the animal owner). There is a limit of two pets per household.

Vouchers can be obtained Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Manteca Animal Shelter located at 115 E Wetmore St. Vouchers will be filled out by the animal owner and submitted for approval. Animal Services will then contact applicant to finalize their voucher.
