Four chances to see aerial fireworks in South County area
FIREWORKS

The first of four aerial firework displays in the South County area get underway tonight.

As it happens, you can see a different display for four nights in a row. And the best part is two of the shows are free.

*The City of Lathrop Anniversary Celebration tonight.

*The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors fireworks celebration at Woodward Reservoir on Saturday, July 2.

*The Stockton 99 Speedway fireworks after the races on Sunday, July 3.

*The City of Manteca aerial fireworks display on Monday, July 4.
The City of Lathrop aerial fireworks that are free to watch take place at 9:15 p.m. tonight at the Generations Center on Spartan Drive near Lathrop High.

They will follow the city’s anniversary celebration that takes place starting at 6 p.m. at the same location.

It will feature food trucks, vendors, a kids entertainment stage featuring a magician, carnival style kids’ rides, face painting, live bands, and carnival games.

It is being staged by the City of Lathrop in partnership with the Lathrop Sunrise Rotary.

Then on Saturday, July 2, at 9:30 p.m. aerial fireworks are set to be launched at Woodward Reservoir at 14528 26 Mile Road northwest of Oakdale off of East Highway 120.

It is designed to top off people spending a day swimming, boating, frolicking or just plain relaxing at the reservoir.

The entrance price that day is $25 a vehicle.

Next up are aerial fireworks on Sunday, July 3, at the Stockton 99 Speedway. The fireworks follow a full racing schedule that starts at 6 p.m.

Adults ages 16-59 and general admission grandstand tickets are $25. Seniors ages 60-over, junior ages 13-15, and Military with ID are $20. Kids ages 12 and under are free. All parking is free.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate on race night.

Stockton 99 Speedway is located at 4105 North Wilson Way Stockton, Ca 95205. For more details visit www.Stockton99.com

Capping off the four-day celebration of the nation’s birthday — and that of Lathrop — are free aerial fireworks launched near the Big League Dreams sports complex in Manteca at about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, July 4.

Earlier in the day the Sunrise Kiwanis Club will be staging their Independence Day parade.

The route departs Golden West School on Main Street at 10 a.m.

It then heads to Center Street where it turns west and ends at Library Park.
