The Ripon Unified School District is looking a lot adjacent to Harvest High.

The property at 120 Maple Ave. recently came up for sale and was brought before the school board at last week’s meeting.

Elected leaders were needing more information but, at the same time, saw this potentially as “a great opportunity.”

Trustees will again look at the land purchase at today’s 4:30 p.m. special session in the District Office board room, 304 N. Acacia Ave.

“This is an opportunity for us to plan ahead,” said board Vice President Kit Oase at last week’s meeting.

Harvest High is the district’s continuation school campus at 729 W. Main St.

According to the school website www.harvesthigh.net: “A Continuation School is an alternative place to learn, but not an alternative to learning.”

Trustees, at the special session, will look at hiring Tina Lujan as Campus Security / Crossing Guard at Ripon High / Ripon Elementary, approve one overnight activity trip for RHS students at National Cheer Competition in Las Vegas, and sign off on a pair of Livestock 4-H Project Agreements at the Clinton School Farm.
